Bad, bad movie
MFH checked out The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen from the library. Thank God we did not pay money to see it! They should have called it The League of Extraordinarily Mangled Fictional Characters.

More on the Theory of the Quantum Fish.
Seriously, I do think that with quantum mechanics, God left himself a “back door” through which to work in the universe. A little tweaking of a wavefunction, and bam! A miracle! I just hadn’t connected it to Creation before.
We went to the premiere as part of the Birthday Festivities.
Messy Christian has a good review of it.
My question is, how does Yoda keep from slicing off his ears with his light saber?
It’s MFH’s (my foofy husband’s) birthday today!!!
Last night, in the middle of talking about God and quantum indeterminancy, he connected it to evolution: “so you have this water, and then, BAM! A fish!” Actually, it would be a fish and an anti-fish. With mass-energy equivalence (Einstein’s E=mc^2), a particle and its […]
I’ve come across some reviews of a book called The Feminist Mistake, by Mary Kassian. Looks like it might be worth reading. According to the reviews, part of the book explains how feminists end up redefining God. I ran across some of that recently when I was reading Gloria Steinem’s Revolution from […]
I was out wandering around the Internet, and ended up at the Ladies Against Feminism website. A lot of good stuff about Christian womanhood there, although my clothing style is nowhere near their vision of modest, feminine dress. It’d be hard to get me to give up my flannel shirts and rugged footwear.
I’m a cool-weather person, so the prospect of summer weather isn’t that exciting to me. What I do look forward to this time of year is the beginning of garage sale season. This afternoon I went to the YMCA garage sale, and bought some books, including Dough Creations: Food to Folk […]
I took my Numerical Analysis final exam this morning, so I’m done with school until fall! *happy Peggy dance* This class was relatively easy for me–more math than computer science. Even better, practical math. (Less temptation to make mathematician jokes.)
Word square: symmetric matrix of letters where each row and column spells a word. Since it’s symmetric, the row words are the same as the column words.
My husband John introduced me to word squares, and he’s always amazed at how quickly I can make them. (The secret is to be good […]
Keir wants to know why I voted for Bush.
I voted for Bush partly as a vote of confidence. He’s been a far better leader since the Sept. 11 attacks than anyone thought he could be. He has shown a lot of courage in pursuing what is right, rather than what is popular (both […]
