Which means that my old suitcase is getting rained in for about the fifth time; it was banished outdoors after the cat used it as an emergency litter box. (Smart kitty.) My hope of salvaging it is waning.

I’ve been chugging through lots of projects around the house. One of the latest was to add a shelf to the dish cupboard. Also, I cut down all the old raspberry canes, and gave the kitchen floor an intense scrubbing. I built a telephone stand out scrap plywood and tubes from the previous tenants’ severely dysfunctional clothes racks (that kept collapsing, even after reinforcement with duct tape). And so on.
