Diversity, eh?

I’m amazed that anyone actually reads this small fry blog, much less comments about it. (I don’t allow comments here because I’m very shy, and my words only come out when there is a wide open space for them.)

It is pretty cool to be fourth on the list when I do a Google search for “physics chick.”

Yes, I really think that feminists can be “icky.” Especially when they are talking about their vaginas or their creative sexual arrangements. Too busy fighting to preserve the “right to privacy” to actually use it, I guess. The few feminist sites that I read are painting John Roberts as a rabid misogynist who will take away all of their abortion rights and send them back to the Dark Ages. To me, John Roberts is a talented lawyer with a delightfully dry sense of humor, who’ll give us sane, well-written Supreme Court opinions.

As for relating feminism to Christianity, the Ladies Against Feminism say it better than I can, as usual, in their FAQ:

You do not need to be a feminist to oppose rape. You do not need to be a feminist to oppose abuse. You do not need to be a feminist to applaud womanly strengths or encourage women to be thinkers and doers. As women, we are part of mankind and created in the image of God. Without woman, mankind is incomplete. Equal before God, we nevertheless have a unique role that men cannot fill. Why give up this incredible privilege? Feminism as a movement (particularly in the last 80 years) has sought to pull us all down to the lowest common denominator in the name of equality. For my part, I prefer to rise to the great challenge of womanhood than to compete with men for a role I wasn’t designed to fill.
