We spent the weekend here, to celebrate our first anniversary. It is a very restful place.

For Halloween, we had only a dozen or so trick-or-treaters, so we have lots of candy left. MFH concocted a magic chili potion, for a chili cook-off at work today.

Feminist blogs are all in a tizzy over the Alito nomination, especially over the case that involved spousal notification of an abortion. Hardcore feminists always seem to me to be living in some warped parallel universe, one in which men are pretty much incapable of doing anything right. Why should I trust and confide in my doctor more than my husband? Not to mention that I think it’s thoroughly sexist to deny fathers any say in the fate of a conceived child, just because they happen to be biologically incapable of caring for it at that point.
