Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Well, it was an extremely condensed version of the book. It felt a bit rushed–Dumbledore especially seemed to be quite…hasty….hurrying through his lines so the scenes wouldn’t take as long. But it covered the main storyline, the TriWizard Tournament, pretty well. As usual, some of the action scenes were beefed up beyond what was in the book–I would rather have had some of the material that they left out, instead.

All the kids need haircuts.

It amuses me greatly than Alan Rickman, who plays Snape, was also the voice of Marvin in the newest Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy movie: I can just picture Snape muttering, “Life. Don’t talk to me about life.”

I should point out (as certain parents at the theater should have noticed), that it is rated PG-13, and therefore is far too scary for young children. (Especially for one poor toddler in the back, who wailed through all the scary parts.)

Overall, it was very good.
