Washington Avenue, by the University of Minnesota, is just about my least favorite street in the cities to drive. Guess where I went this evening for a meeting? High vehicle traffic, high pedestrian traffic, and no left turn arrows on the lights, so it’s usually practically impossible to make a left turn on green. Hard enough to make a right turn, sometimes, given the hordes of students ambling over the crosswalks. Worse, I was driving alone, without MFH along to soothe my savage inner beast. Tonight all the beast wanted to do was floor it, and to hell with anything that got in its way. Restraining it was hard work.

So I’ve been thinking about a virtual Washington Avenue, where I can safely let the beast drive amok in a heavy vehicle–like a monster truck, a snowplow, or a tank. Similar to Grand Theft Auto, but just driving, not carjacking. Bonus points if it allows you to drive inside University buildings.
