Bad Timing
Two examples:
1. The Sierra Club sending me an urgent “Join us and help to save the redwoods!” letter when I’m in the middle of rereading Michael Crichton’s State of Fear.
2. Adobe Acrobat interrupting me when I’m about half a page into reading a document, to tell me I should update the product–very poor software etiquette, particularly when the company I work for specializes in (among other things) how to make automation work well with and for humans.
