Still Pregnant
Today it wasn’t quite as hot, and I got more done in the house and the yard than I have in a while. Maybe it helped that I napped all afternoon–my job is back to a non-busy state. I was pretty lethargic over the weekend; some of that may have been from the RhoGam shot I got on Saturday. My midwife lent me Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth, and I read straight through it. Well worth reading, if only for her explanation of Sphincter Law and how it applies to childbirth.
The big challenge of pregnancy right now is to eat enough protein–my midwife recommends 80 to 100 grams per day for the third trimester, because babies grown on protein do a lot better than babies grown on sugar. My usual diet is high-carb, low protein, so this is quite a change. Between that and our CSA share, this is the healthiest that I’ve ever eaten.
The baby is doing fine, giving big kicks now and then. I’m not sick of pregnancy yet, just sick of being too hot.
