Snakes on a Plane

MFH talked me into seeing Snakes on a Plane on opening night. His review is here. I kind of liked it, although not enough to go and see it again. MFH, ever foofy, dug out a plastic snake to take along. He was the only person who brought a snake of any sort, and we were nearly the oldest people there, I think; one teenager had to bring his mom along. The movie definitely deserves the R rating. For the most part, though, it was campy enough for me to not take the numerous gruesome snakebite deaths too seriously. As MFH wrote, less direct gruesomeness and a little more humor would have been better. There were some places where plausibility was stretched fairly thin–such as the amazing stability of the plane in the air, although this just added to the campiness. The small planes I’ve flown in FlightGear never handled that well, especially during the landings.
