State Fair!
MFH had to work all last weekend, but he got Monday and today off. So today we went to the Minnesota State Fair. It was nice to go on a weekday for once–not as crowded, so I didn’t have to do much stroller dodging. It was a surprise, though, to see the cluster of union booths all open and manned.
We had to take things a bit slower this year, what with me going on nine months pregnant. We went in a big loop around the fair, with frequent stops to sit down and rest the feet. My ligaments have gone all loose on me, which makes walking fun. MFH forgot to wear walking shoes, and ended up stowing his sandals in his backpack and walking around in his socks for quite a while.
We went our separate ways on food. MFH has various foofy things that he likes to get every year, along with trying out a few new foofy things. I like to get a real meal at one of the church or civic group dining halls, and supplement it with a root beer float later. I also like the big cream puffs sold at the corner just before Heritage Square.
As usual, we stopped at a photo booth and got pictures. This is the fourth year we’ve gone to the fair together, so we have pictures from when we were dating, when we were engaged, and twice since we’ve been married.
I skipped the animals entirely this year, and came back early. MFH stayed on to take animal pictures. We live a couple of blocks from one of the free Park and Rides, so that worked out ok.
