MFH and I did a lot of running around on Saturday, looking for the “right” car seat/child restraint system in the “right” pattern, and eventually found one. (It didn’t occur to us until we were in the fourth store to ask if they had what we wanted out back somewhere; I claim advanced pregnancy as my excuse.)

Then when we got it home we started reading the installation instructions….yikes! Both of us had trouble understanding them.

If I were a social scientist, I’d be starting a paper on the effect of car seat and seat belt laws on birth rates–it must have been a lot easier to cart a horde of children around when you could just throw them all in the back and go.
