We’ve finished most of the seventy-some things that I wanted to get done before the baby came. At this point I’m mostly resting, puttering, and waiting for labor to start. I’ve had more time to get out for walks; Sunday we went to the Tamarack Nature Center and took a long, slow walk on the unpaved trails–so much easier on the feet and joints than hard pavement. (Or, as I said at one point: “Asphalt is for wheels. I have feet!”)

I did an experiment to see if attaching a lace curtain to our secondhand bassinet as a cover would keep our cat out of it. Results and conclusions: not if she jumps onto the curtain, so we’d better abandon the bassinet to the kitty, and work out a closer co-sleeping arrangement for mom and baby, which will probably be better anyway.
