People ask us occasionally if OLC is sleepimg through the night yet. (MFH’s answer is, “Well, I’m sleeping through the night.”) The funny thing is that we really aren’t sleep-deprived and anxious for her to start sleeping all the way through. In fact, I’d rather that she kept waking up for a night feeding or two or three, to keep my milk supply up and breastfeeding going long-term. With co-sleeping, and now the ability to nurse while lying down, night feedings are no problem. Once we get her past the evening fussy time (easier now), OLC is ok with snuggling in next to me for the night. Usually I wake up when she starts rooting around; occasionally she has to cry for a second or two to wake me up, but that’s been rare. Since most of the time I’m not waking up all the way, it’s easy to go back to sleep. The lying-down nursing position is a little awkward, but not too bad. I can’t imagine how hard it must be to get up and feed formula to a baby in their nursery every night.
