Well, for one thing, mourning the passing of Cathy Seipp, the writer, some. My favorite story from her blog was the one about how she sued a big airline magazine publisher, in small-claims court, to get paid for an article she had written. She won, too.

OLC is as cute as ever. She can roll from back to stomach now. She gets upset when she does, though, because from there she wants to take off and crawl, and she can’t yet. This week has been a little rough, because her sleep schedule got thoroughly disrupted over the weekend; we’re just now getting back on track.

The huge pile of snow in our back yard is almost all melted. We’ve been able to get out for walks more regularly now, which is great for our health and sanity.

Working at home with a baby is pretty challenging, but I did manage to grind out a couple of hundred lines of Perl (a language that I’ve barely used before) and make it all work.

I even managed to get a cloth diaper or two sewn. OLC is starting to outgrow the smallest size (0-6 months, nominally), and I haven’t made enough of the next larger size yet . We broke down and bought a diaper pail from Punkinbutt, not being able to find a good alternative locally. OLC will be starting on solid foods soon, and I think we may start a wet-pail method of diaper-handling then. We still use disposables at night and for going out.

I wish I had a picture of OLC from last night: MFH had her on his lap, and I had the cat on my lap, and the look on OLC’s face as she was reaching out to take Kitty by both ears was just priceless (Kitty escaped mostly unharmed).
