Mother’s Day

I had a good first Mother’s Day as a mother, although the day was pretty full: church, going with MFH’s mom to visit a good friend in the hospital, and having friends from church over for supper. We started it fairly tired, because OLC had been nursing about every hour on the hour all night (and then woke up early wanting more), and MFH was up almost all night anyway, working on a short video to show in church that day. But it worked out ok. Our pastor surprised everyone by giving the shortest sermon ever; it felt like getting out of school early on a nice spring day.

At the end of the day, I got some time to actually work on my latest project, which is going to be a small leather-covered notebook for my craft project designs. I’m having lots of fun solving the design problems as they come up. The leather, canvas, and thread that I’m using came from three different rummage sales; I’m amazed at how such diverse (and formerly unwanted) materials are coming together so well.
