MFH was away for a few days last week, for a friend’s wedding. I had thought about going too, but decided that I’d rather not travel that far with an infant yet. So OLC and I stayed home.

I wasn’t sure how I’d do for that long on my own with no breaks from the baby, but it went ok. I took those days off work, and didn’t bother cooking real dinners, which together really lightened my load. We went out and about some, and worked on a couple of projects around the house, and watched the three original Star Wars movies. It was nice to be able to just follow OLC’s daily rhythms, without any external time pressures. She seemed to miss her dad some, but she is used to him being away at work all day, so it was more of a something’s-missing-but-I-don’t-know-what feeling for her, I think.

Sunday afternoon we went to pick up MFH at the airport, and OLC lit right up when she saw him.
