Sick, sick, sick

We are all sick, have been fighting off a virus or two since last week. MFH did a half day of work yesterday, but has been home other than that. Yesterday was fun, because he and I both woke up with voices pitched about half an octave lower than normal. I could sing bass!

We did sort of get ourselves together for Halloween: MFH dressed up as Clark Kent (and looked very cute in glasses), I dressed up as a sort of random cloak-and-staff D&D persona, and we stuck a little hat with bear ears on OLC, but she kept pulling it off. We had maybe 20 trick-or-treaters come by. No big deal, but where we are now, I would rather have our porch light on, shining in the darkness, than to leave it off.

I decided to give NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) a go again this year, but I don’t know if I’ll make the whole 50,000 words by the end of the month this time. I had a lot of fun with it two years ago when I did it. The older I get, the more good writing I’ve read, and the harder it is for me to write anything myself, because I see so many more of the flaws. But with the short deadline of NaNoWriMo, I can just fly on and on and write a bunch of crap, and some parts of it actually come out all right.
