The invention of electronically amplified music has severely taxed the ability of people to live in close proximity to one another.

Though I must admit that our present apartment is the quietest one I’ve ever lived in. Most of the noise we get is from the one of the “elephants” upstairs playing his bass guitar.

And yes, this is from a website about living car-free. It’s becoming apparent that we can no longer afford to keep repairing our car (with over 250,000 miles on it), nor can we afford at the moment to buy anything better.
