I’m mildly bummed out that CRAFT Magazine will no longer be printing magazines, though they’ll still be keeping their web site and craft blog active. I have all but one of the ten quarterly issues. It was a bright and inspiring magazine, and they actually got me, who normally won’t pay even $3 for a magazine, to shell out as much as $15 an issue.

I subscribed to it for a year, but their subscription fulfillment and customer service people were so incredibly incompetent (at least four distinct screw-ups in my case) that I went back to buying it at the newsstand at full price. From the comments on their announcement, I wasn’t the only one having problems with the customer service. I wonder why they didn’t piggy-back off MAKE Magazine’s people and infrastructure, which seemed to be working just fine when MFH had his subscription. (CRAFT Magazine being a spin-off from MAKE in the first place.)
