I was offline for a week, then off on vacation for two, then jumping back into getting the housework and laundry under control.

The vacation went well. We took the Manitowoc-Ludington ferry this year; very smooth trip. No throwing up this time. Went fishing and to a few Great Lakes beaches (Lake Michigan was nice and cold). Roasted some marshmallows. Spent a few days at Grandma and Grandpa’s house; I greatly enjoyed being able to let OLC run in and out of the house without having to watch her every single second, or having to get her properly dressed and shod each time she went out. Spent a couple of nights camping. Stayed one night in a house where Jimmy Stewart filmed a movie. MFH did some darkroom stuff with an enlarger that Providentially arrived (for free) just before we left.

We put off making the trip until TLG started learning how to use his hands, so he could play with toys in his car seat a little, but right after that happened he started teething. He still managed to charm everyone he met.

We found out where half of the stimulus is going: to (very rural) highways in the middle of the Upper Peninsula. Every time TLG was starting to fuss, we would see this sign: One Lane Road Ahead.

OLC calls sunscreen “sun grease”.
