MFH finally talked me into visiting Costco. This was my comment on the way out: “It’s an Aldi’s for rich people!” There were long lines at the checkout and another line at the door to get out; it gave me the impression of customers being herded like cattle.

I used to shop at Aldi’s occasionally when I was single, but I gave it up because they were so paranoid about their carts (had to stick in a quarter to unlock a cart to use) and at the same time hostile at the checkout when I didn’t use a cart (it messed up the clerk’s workflow). I was more of a basket shopper, and they didn’t do baskets.

I am thinking of maybe getting new eyeglasses at Costco; I saw one pair of frames there that I sort of liked. Which is better than the zero pairs that I liked everywhere else I have looked. My current glasses are driving me crazy. I have to push them way up on my nose to be able to see, and they constantly slide out of position, and also the lens are so short that I really have to tilt my head down to look at either child. I even went back to my scratched-up old pair for a while. (These drive me crazy, too, because the plastic on the earpieces is so worn that it is splitting, and snagging my hair.)
