The book’s birthday will be October 1

Whatever shape my book project is in on Oct. 1, is the shape it’ll be in when I release it (electronically somehow). I’ll mop up the rest of the things that I want to do with it later, and send it off for self-publishing. Anyway, it keeps growing and growing, and I feel a real sense of urgency to get it done and get it out to be read. Normally I don’t like to unveil my work until it is perfect.

In other news…

The secret to OLC’s potty training is that she wants to go precisely when I go–synchronized peeing. This must be another toddler design feature (that goes along with Toddlers Were Designed to Eat Outdoors). I’ll ask her if she has to go potty, and she’ll say no, emphatically. But then I’ll say, “Well, I have to go,” and then suddenly she wants to go too. In unison. Well, it works.

Yesterday while I was nursing TLG to sleep, OLC got into the fridge, and the carton of co-op eggs. She only cracked five of them in the living room…all over the upholstery, and the carpet, and a couple of books…from what she said afterward, I think she was playing “Cleaning up Throw-Up” with them. The carpet now feels more sleek from the egg white residue.
