Got them and promptly painted them with fingernail polish (in a chocolate color), because I didn’t like the original color (yellow/gold). I bought them for the shape. The nail polish is holding up well so far. It was tricky to paint with because it dries so very fast. I’m glad that I am back with plastic frames, and away from the little nose pads of the metal frames.

TLG is scooting around faster and faster. He is getting very close to figuring out how to crawl. He gets up on all fours, with his bottom high in the air, and wobbles there for a few seconds. He has been showing interest in mooching off my plate for a while now, but we just started letting him gnaw on green beans and carrots. I still think that all his teeth are going to come in at once.

One of the things that I have been thinking about lately is how the world is not that big, and there are not that many people in it. Only 26,000 miles in circumference, and only a few billion people living on it. When the government is throwing trillions of dollars right and left, millions and billions start looking kind of small.

I made it over to the thrift store today, on foot, and bought a leather purse. I’m going to use the leather to make myself some shoes. (I have some heavier leather from the surplus store for the inner and outer soles. Contact cement from the home improvement store for glue. Thread that I can wax for sewing. Leather needles for sewing. Nails for awls.) I have also been doing a little sourcing for violin materials; picked up a piece of willow branch next door to church. (The internal corner blocks in a violin are made of willow.)
