Otherwise, this has been one of the nastiest colds ever. At first, we thought it was the swine flu, but TLG’s flu test came up negative, and this is dragging on too long to be a flu. I’m starting to suspect that a significant portion of the annual flu deaths are actually caused by colds like this one. “It just keeps kicking you while you’re down,” I told MFH. With last year’s flu, “BAM!” and I was out for a day, then recovered fairly quickly. This cold has been more like: “Bam. Bam. Bam. Bam. Bam.” I actually lost a couple of pounds, just from being sick with it.
