Why I am tired
As a little sabbatical exercise, I started listing things I’ve done and endured in the last six years, and now I understand why I am so tired:
FOUR moves
Took half of the courses for a master’s degree in computer science (and maintained a respectable GPA), until I dropped out
While I was in school, I was also working in my Awesome Job (four and a half years; about 6 major projects)
Got engaged and married
MFH was promptly laid off after the honeymoon, and remained unemployed for ten months
Had two children; 18 months of being pregnant, and 32 months of breastfeeding so far
Paid off over $40,000 in student loans
Acquired about 80% of my/our possessions
Had to redo practically my whole wardrobe, because my pre-pregnancy body is not coming back anytime soon
Unloaded a significant amount of excess possessions, including my worn-out car
Numerous craft projects
Wrote and self-published a book
450 blog posts
Several deaths occurred in our respective families
A few health problems of our own
Kept a Subaru fixed up and running past the 260k mile mark; good car, except for being terribly expensive to maintain and repair
I’m not going to even try to guess how many books I’ve read in the past six years.
